Taken from the phenomenal book, Contact High: "Cam was always for underground heads, perhaps fans who loved that harder New York sound. Since the album referenced his home in Harlem, I wanted the shoot to be where he's from, but I didn't feel the cover had to be of Cam'ron's actual house. Cam's Dipset crew was there that day, so we went next door to Juelz Santana's apartment building and I was like, 'We definitely have to shoot here.' Then we went over to the basement of the adjoining building. The Dipset guys was rocking jerseys, playing cards, and sipping Hennessy. It's interesting to stumble upon scenarios like that, because you can visualize the many nights they probably had there hanging out and doing their thing. That's one thing I think is really great about what I do -- I get to peep into lives that other people would never see." - Eric Johnson. That album was Come Home With Me, released in May 2002. We've talked about this album, as well as other releases from Cam's extensive catalog (there's even a playlist to dig up from one year ago today), so hit the archives for lots more! Some say Come Home With Me is Cam's best album, but I always leaned more towards S.D.E. Nostalgia plays a role in that decision for me though. Yeah, I do see the irony, lol. Happy Born Day, Cam'Ron! Where's the NEW music at though, my guy? Until then...
