One of the more popular items on this site (so says Google) is my Eazy-E post where I shared the pamphlet that was handed out at Eazy E's funeral. I think Vlad or someone snatched and shared it, triggering the algorithms and what-not. Since, I haven't posted much about Eric "Eazy-E" Wright and shame on me. With the success of Straight Outta Compton and one of the more storied careers in hip-hop as a solo artist and a founding member of N.W.A. / Ruthless Records, we need to look back on his music and career more often. As Ben Westhoff says, "He's remembered by some as a footnote rather than a hip-hop colossus who changed everything." We all need to do better in that regard. Enter DJ Blend Daddy who released "Eazy E: Comin' Str8 Outta Compton" as mixtape in 2015. Running through solo records and N.W.A. tracks with live cuts, unique transitions and subtle blends, DJ Blend Daddy creates an album experience that runs through Eazy-E's catalog and helps us all set the record straight. There are over 30 tracks on the mix below, dig in and enjoy! R.I.P., Eazy-E.
