"With root beer thoughts, here's a tennis court for your birthday." Happy Born Day, Ghostface! Arguably the most consistent member of the Wu-Tang Clan, Ghostface's character is perhaps the only thing more entertaining than his back catalog of classics. I sat for a while with what to dig up for this post and I settled on the interview above; it's from Vibe's May issue in 2004. At first glance, it may look like another quick interview discussing new trends and blah blah blah, but keep reading. The soul in Ghostface exposes itself when he thinks about raising and protecting his seeds. Then, when asked about his purpose, Ghost shares: "To serve the Father. I'm here to do what makes Him happy. I did a lot of bad shit in my life ... But, I did a lot of good, too -- my scale is balanced out. Pardon me for whatever I did on this planet, but I was a product of my environment. And I just bent with the times here and there, but no disrespect, I still gave what I had to give to You ... I know this world is hectic. It's a battle going on between God and the Devil. And I'm just standing for righteousness. God made right before He made left, so that's my path." Ghostface admits he's been shot three times (once in his neck); he's been in group homes and to Riker's Island -- it's been quite the journey, but I believe his music has benefited the culture & changed some lives along the way. That's purpose, too. Lastly, speaking on the classic single, 'All I Got Is You,' Ghost says that song is his life, so let's get into it -- Below is the Mighty Mi Remix to 'All I Got Is You,' check it out. HBD!
